The wine cellar is where magic happens, where the scents and vitality of the land, the microclimate, and the grapes come together to transform into exceptional wine.
Here, human skill and expertise face the countless variables of winemaking every day, turning the creation of a “simple” wine into a delicate balance between technique and poetry, aiming to delight both others and ourselves.
At Villa La Ripa, traditional wine vats and historic barrels coexist with modern equipment, but the true protagonist is always passion. During harvest season, the owners are fully immersed in the fermenting musts, living day and night alongside the transformation of grapes into extraordinary Tuscan wine.
The new winery at Villa La Ripa was born from a clear need for growth and quality, providing larger, functional spaces for fermentation tanks essential to precise winemaking. Its first harvest marked a new chapter for this historic Tuscan estate.
Beyond functionality, the winery embodies a philosophy of innovation and harmony with the landscape. Its sinuous facade, covered in climbing plants, blends seamlessly with the rolling hills of Chianti Colli Aretini, while the interior impresses with a monumental space reminiscent of a true wine cathedral. Columns evoke the elegance of the Renaissance, and barrel-vaulted ceilings recall Roman architecture, creating a bridge between history and modernity.
This balance of aesthetics, sustainability, and technology led Villa La Ripa’s new winery to be recognized in 2023 by the Movimento Turismo del Vino as one of the most beautiful wineries in Tuscany, establishing it as a reference point for high-quality wine tourism and contemporary winery design.
